New Jersey: Backyard Bird-watch
When I moved to New Jersey from Nebraska, in August 2015, I hated it because I had to quit my job that I loved. I had to leave all my friends behind. I had to get used to an entirely and completely different environment. However, within an year, I changed my career and tried to get adjusted to where I live. Why I don't hate it anymore? I chose a new profession that I LOVE MORE! And we bought and moved to a house in a beautiful area in NJ.
Out of the things I like in NJ, one is the area where we live in now. Although it's not away from busy cities, once inside the neighborhood, one wouldn't even know that there are high-traffic highways just a couple of miles away. Our house is near a creek and that brings various critters to our backyard. Deer, foxes, and groundhogs are regular visitors. In addition, What I adore most is spending time watching all the birds that visit our garden throughout the year. I make sure they do have a reason to visit us by keeping the bird-bath and bird-feeder well supplied.
Here I share some pictures of the birds that visit us.

The song-sparrow in the photos started singing his melodies since February 05th this year (2017). He's up at the crack of dawn and so are we. No choice! But I just love their songs. Makes me just so happy to wake up to such beautiful voices and listen to them.
Following are some of their different melodies.
When the feeder is empty, the juncos and the titmice hang around in the trees close-by chirping sweetly until I go there and fill it up.
I used to see only one chickadee, one downy woodpecker, one red-bellied woodpecker, and one nuthatch at a time, and was wondering whether they are just by themselves without partners. But then, the past couple of days, I saw all of them with their second-halves. Such a beautiful sight!
